I don’t have any perceptions of how kids should be . I treat kids just like adults and no matter how young they are I don’t do babytalks cause I just simply don’t know how.
Over the years I found kids respond well to my ways of conversing and interactions with respects. I must say the Aussie kids are very mature in their minds and by the way they reach 11 or 12 they know everything .
The way they express emotions or interpretations can be very sensitive and delicated .
With singing it’s so important to have the right state of mind when they come to me. I am also sensitive that way if I smell and feel something is not right then I will try to address it unconsciously. My 10 years of registered music therapists experience does comes handy.
You will be so surprised how many teens encounter emotional hurdles and can be so distressed that their parents won’t know about it.
What’s why I love teaching voice. I am just using the voice to strengthen the being, imprinting the confidence and soul in them.
I hope I am doing all right. And I hope they never realize it. They just simply feel good about themselves. That is exactly the purpose.
