In my years of teaching I have never encountered any problems with parents not paying.
I issued invoice at the first week of the term and most of the people do it by second week paying the whole term off. Occasionally you will have one or two overlooking the invoice or having financial difficulty and I never make a scene out of it. I just do a reminder, send the invoice without saying a word. Straightaway it's done. I don't like to think this is a transaction of business. The fact everyone is paying on time is an act of respect. Respect of my time so that I don't have to chase account or work on any administration matter. Having said that I am quite an organised, matter of fact person. If I need to chase the account then I will no longer be interested in teaching the student. The most important value for teacher is appreciation and respect. If the respect is no mutual then I will make sure you go. I have no problem replacing the next one out of waiting list straight away. Thank you everyone for being good parents with respect.
