I was reading Dale Carnagies book the other day and note down some points on my phone to remind myself. I might copy and paste them here and share with you.
Don’t criticize, condemn or complain (I don’t criticize much I just nag and ramble like an old lady sometimes ..)
Clear your desk of all papers , except those relating to the immediate problem at hand. (This is so good. Otherwise I get overwhelm with the never ending to do list)
Do things in the order of importance (I now have an app called Todoist that I use everyday to sort out priorities)
When you face a problem solve it then and there if you have the facts necessary to make a decision . Don’t keep putting off decisions. (Procrastination is still a thing of mine. This needs to work)
Anxiety, worry , feeling of Boredom and resentment , not appreciated is the emotion factor that exhaust me (so true. I am very aware of who are the unappreciated people in my life and remind myself to show appreciation to others constantly)
Remember no one ever kicks a dead dog. (I never take criticism well. Now I realise that no one kicks a dead dog. If you are alive and do your thing you will get criticized . Deal with it .
Next time we are tempt to admonish somebody, think of what will Lincoln handle it. Lots of stories about how good Lincoln’s people skill is. I always remind myself “what will Lincoln do? “
I consider my ability to arouse enthusiasm among people. The way to develop the best that is in a person is by appreciation
Always do everything WORLD CLASS. This one is my best motto. I try.
