Today I learn something from my girlfriends that I have never realized before.
If you are married or in a de facto relationship for even just 6 months, the other partner is able to claim your assets when you are seperated
I always know that but I never knew the other party can claim that asset you bought before your were married. Unless the assets is in the name of family trust. De facto relationship can be as short as 6 months to make that all possible.
Perhaps it’s better not to get divorced.
Or just don’t get married.
It’s a little sad and surprised to hear about her experience. But it’s so good to see her fly high and wide now.
Miss Saigon on broadway.
I can't believe how powerful, raw, this new Miss Saigon production is. Very different from the Lea Salonga Miss Saigon in the 1990s. I have so much to talk about each musical. So with the one hour radio show with Radio northern beaches I think I will decide to do one hour on one specific musical once a week.
Start with Miss Saigon. I have seen this production once in Sydney in the 90s and once in 2000s, also West end in London and the broadway movie version too. Lea and Eva sang very differently too. I don't know if the audience will be interested but I am very passionated with music theatre. There is so much to talk about .
How powerful it is to be able to sing. You really feel on top of the world.
I have a little secret before I go overseas where I can't speak the language.
The secret is...Michel Thomas language app.
Apart from being native speaker on Chinese and Taiwanese. Since young I have gone to so many language tuitions such as English, Japanese, German, Spanish and Korean. As a classical trained singer I took compulsory classes on French, Italian as well because there are so many French Melodies, German Lied and Italian operatic area that we need to learn and memorise.
If you ask me, So what language can you really speak? Apart from fluent in Chinese, English and Taiwanese. I can only get by conversational Japanese, simple German and simple Spanish. None of them is good but my philosophy is that it's always better to understand a little rather than nothing at all.
When you learn another language, you really open another world of communication.
Every time I go to a new country where I can't speak the language, I bought the language app of Michel Thomas method. Like last year I went to Sweden so I bought Swedish. He doesn't have Michel Thomas in Czech. So when I went to Prague I really went with no knowledge at all.
I am off to Dubai soon so I bought Michel Thomas in Arabic months ago and literally learn from listening daily. His method is incredibly useful that get you to speak very quickly . It's not a long term language learning method but the emergency of language learning.
You really can communicate and construct the sentence very quickly and effectively. Of course when you come back without any more further studying you'll totally forget it. However it makes the travelling more interesting if you can communicate even the slightest and everyone loves and appreciates your effort.
A lot of miracles can happen when you make effort on things. That's my life's philosophy.
Check out Michel Thomas language app. It's not cheap but its worth it.
Radio Northern Beaches is in terry hills . That’s quite far away from me and tonight is the first time that I actually drove there in the dark.
I supposed to be there at 7:30 pm normally it takes just 30 min they to the radio station. Tonight I tried to avoid wakehurst pathway . Apparently wakehurst pathway is the most spooky road in Sydney . I have heard so many different stories about
So I decided to drive all the way to Dee why before turning into forest way. When I finished with the station I actually drove all the way to chatswood direction before driving back.
Oh I will definitely lock in the morning time for recording. Driving at night to Terry Hills is just too scary. My hands were shaking .
No bush and no driving darkness for susie at night please.....
When the student put their phone on the music stand the first thing I asked them to do is to turn on airplane mode.
If I don’t do that we will continue hearing never ending din din din from their mobile. And that’s every single one of them .
Every single one of my students is so popular. I don’t even know how it works. Who are those people never ending texting on instagram, snapchats and who knows where .
No wonder at this day and age all the kids are getting more and more anxious . The social media certainly doesn’t help . But I of ten wonder what can parents do? You can’t take away the phone from the kids either. It’s a way of communication between friends and that’s what everyone does these days .
I can ask them to turn to aeroplane mode but parents can’t. You also can’t simply just say, no phone for my kids (like what my brother said. The problem is his daughter is only 7. Wait till 14 ok)
Hard to be parents these days. I feel for you parents.
I really do .
Travel is not an escape for work. It's a discovery for life.
Every 10 weeks I take off to somewhere. Sometimes with family, sometimes with friends, sometimes by myself. If you think about it there are a lot of places that you need to go when you are younger. If waiting for later you will never get to go.
I booked the hotel for Korea trip in Dec. I think it's wiser to book earlier. Also called the friend in Dubai to organise our upcoming trip in Oct to Dubai and Abu Dhabi. I remembered Megan in our toastmaster meeting often said she works for travel. I don't work for travel. I work and travel to live.
Next April it's either Berlin or Barcelona.
